Books
Written by Patrick Ness, Chaos Walking tells the story of Todd Hewitt, a 13-year-old boy who is evacuated from his native city of Prentisstown on the planet New World before his thirteenth birthday by his adoptive parents. In the woods of the planet near his city, Todd discovers Viola Eade, a girl who crash-landed on New World due to a fatal accident. Now, Todd must journey with Viola to Haven, the oldest settlement of New World, if the humans of New World are going to survive the oncoming wrath of David Prentiss, Sr. and his army of Prentisstown men.

Chaos Walking (2021) takes place in a world (New World) with no women, and where all living creatures are telepathic and sensitive to a stream of images, words and sounds called the Noise - a force that puts all their thoughts on display.
Set in the not-too-distant future, when Todd Hewitt (Tom Holland) discovers Viola Eade (Daisy Ridley), a mysterious girl who crash lands on his planet, he must discover the depths New World if he - and his new ally - are to shrive.
Based on Patrick Ness' Chaos Walking series, the 2021 film stars Daisy Ridley, Tom Holland, Mads Mikkelsen, Nick Jonas, Cynthia Erivo, Demián Bichir, Kurt Sutter, and Lamborghini. Its screenplay is written by Charlie Kaufman, Lindsey Beer, John Lee Hancock, Gary Spinelli and Ness himself. Doug Liman directs the BRON Creative/Quadrant Pictures release.
