History[]
Pre-Series[]
Leading up the siege of Haven in The Knife of Never Letting Go, Lee lived in Haven with his mother and sister. His father died in the Spackle War. When the Prentisstown army invaded Haven, Siobhan (Lee's sister) fought against the men, despite her family's wishes. After the attack, Lee could not find his mother or sister.
Chaos Walking trilogy[]
The Ask and the Answer[]
Viola first encounters Lee while escaping from Haven to bring medicine to the Answer.
Lee and Viola bond during their time in the camp of the Answer. Romantic tension grows between them as their relationship develops.
He was in love with Viola, but then he finds out about her deep connection to Todd.
Monsters of Men[]
Lee loses his sight after his eyes are shot with an acid rifle in the Spackle War, "sees" through other peoples' Noise, primarily Wilf.
