The Spackle War (not to be confused with the war in Monsters of Men), was the first major armed encounter between the native inhabitants of New World, the Land, and the human colonists.
Outcome[]
Both sides suffered heavy casualties, and an uneasy ceasefire was agreed, with both sides keeping out of each other's way. However, a group of Spackle were left behind with the human colonists and became to be known by the free Spackle as the Burden. This first war led to a mutual hatred between humans and the Land, but proper war does not occur again until the Return escapes the massacre of the Burden and informs the Sky of what happened.
